The Bellow of Düsseldorf is a a dizzying theatrical game: The playwright Sergio Blanco is in Dusseldorf to visit his dying father. But as the play progresses it becomes clear that there may be other reasons for Blanco's visit to Dusseldorf. Various hypotheses about the playwright's presence in Düsseldorf emerge and intertwine ranging from writing a script for the porn industry to Blanco's bid to convert to Judaism and to be circumcised in the famous synagogue of Düsseldorf. The text recounts the last moments between father and son, which alternate with the author's various appointments during these three days of agony. Parallel to the theme of the death of the father - which will remain as central topic - the text also deals with the limits of art, the representation of sexuality, and the question of the search for God.
