Wolfram Lotz
Germany
Wolfram Lotz, born in Hamburg in 1981, grew up in the Black Forest and studied literature as well as art and media studies in Konstanz. In 2007 he began studying creative writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. He was co-founder and -editor of the literary magazine Minima and is editor of Edit. Wolfram Lotz writes theatre and radio plays, poetry and prose.
Wolfram Lotz doesn’t do things by halves. He provokes, he dissects, he destroys and builds up again. Starting out as a poet, Wolfranm sees theatre through the eye of an outsider and consistently resists the laws of the classical drama. In his plays, the outside world is reflected in slivers. There are no taboos. The search for the supposed meaning of life becomes philosophical trash in which the characters bloom so delicately and tenderly that the fear of their transiency is omnipresent.
