ELLING: AN ENCOUNTER OF THE THIRD KIND

In this warm comedy, Elling, a man in his 40s who suffers from anxiety, dizziness and neurotic tendencies; he lives alone in a flat, he has been given by the local authorities. At the hot dog stand he falls deeply in love with a woman, who is into everything supernatural, especially UFOs. He has heard stories about persons who have been abducted by people who are not from the planet Earth. Elling’s imagination runs wild after the encounter with the young woman and her interests. The situation does not exactly become less complicated when Elling’s best friend, the simpleminded and sex-obsessed Kjell Bjarne, is thrown out of his home and moves in with Elling…
