Set in Berlin between the 1990s and now,Puddles is about a love triangle between three university friends, Judith, Max and Nora. Max and Judith were childhood sweethearts but broke up when Judith went travelling. Max and Nora got together, stayed together, married, bought a flat and are trying for a baby. But then Judith comes back and stands outside their flat in the pouring rain, heartbroken, with her guitar. And things start to get messy. The story is told from the perspective of the two women, their stories are interwoven, and the audience is split in two, so they inevitably take sides. It’s a story of female friendship winning out against the odds, and unconventional family set-ups. There is original music by composer Sam Hooper and sound designer Luke Swaffield, and the play was originally conceived as an interactive promenade gig-theatre at Shoreditch Town Hall.
