Burth, Jürg

Born in 1944 in Zürich.

As a dancer, he studied at the Zürich' s Opera, the Bühneninstitut Köln, the Centre de Danse Cannes (France), the Graham School New York, the School of American Ballet New York.

He worked at the Operas of Zürich, Basel, Cologne, as well with the Martha Graham Junior Company N.Y., the Lar Lubovitch Company N.Y., the Barock Dance Ensemble New York.

As a choreographer, he created the  Tanzforum Cologne with Helmut Baumann. As a solist and choreographer, he worked with Glen Tetley, Hans van Maanen, Christopher Bruce, Kurt Jooss.

He was the chief choreographer and Ballett Direktor at the Opera of Zürich.

He worked with the National Ballett Amsterdam, the Staatsoper Wien, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bonner Ballett, the Basler Ballett, the Tanzforum am Opernhaus Köln, the Raatiko-Ballett Helsinki, the Brooklyn Dance Theatre, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
