A Thing of Beauty is a monologue inspired by the American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Dahmer committed the rape, murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. A Thing of Beauty explores Dahmer´s struggle to overcome his separateness and escape his own unbearable prison.

The original production, directed by Norwegian director Oystein Johansen, won The Oslo Prize for Best Theatre Performance in 2013.

A Thing of Beauty is published on Spriten publishing house and designed by Rune Doeli/Modest. The book was awarded Silver at ‘The Most Beautiful Book of The Year 2015’.
